for the record
same damn
crooked bush
one day later
up against a
brick wall
this time
Photo note: I never saw this bush before, I swear, and then two in two days in different places. This shot has triangles, always a good sign in my book.

I'm so pleased to be found, bird flu not withstanding. France has been hit very hard by H5N1.
Thanks for writing such a lovely note, in the midst of your worries. Please stay healthy.
All my best, D
Posted by: Dakota at March 21, 2006 05:24 PMOh, what a pleasure to read you again, Dear Mrs Dakota!
Today, in Paris, everything is blocked due to the national strike, everyboy forget about the flu!
There was a lot of sun this morning. It pleased me so much that I decided to come back on your site, during my pause (I work now as a script reader).
Please take care of yourself, I will come back to read you very soon, for sure!

Posted by: Claude at March 28, 2006 04:24 AMDear Claude --
Oh welcome back! I am honored that someone who reads for a living would spend their break reading -- me (?!?)
What are your feelings about the change in French labor laws that have precipitated this strike? I worry that the lack of a future can lead folks to find desperate solutions.
In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine, and what all of us sing about over here -- "April in Paris" Yum.
Best Dakota
Posted by: Dakota at March 28, 2006 06:18 AMWhat I think about the Labor laws? Hum again. It is a very difficult question.
I do not trust our prime Minister, Villepin, one single second. He did not even dare to consult anyone, just like his Right wing peers do nowadays. They are rewriting all the Labor code now, without telling anyone. The French people feel betrayed, that is why they react so violentely.
On the other hand, French People won't admit admit that something has to be done about our Labor laws, and they fear very much "precariousness". They do not want to think that, sometimes, it can be synonym with more freedom. Everybody here is complaining about his or her job (boring, terrible boss, all the more terrible salaries etc...) but they will never quit... too much enemployment, .....and strict labor laws, and...the fear of the unknown future.
I hope Villepin won't succeed, even if the "CPE" is quite an intelligent measure (he is not a good "salesman" but some of his points are not so stupid). If Villepin wins, he will fell more free than ever to make things worse and worse.
We have one just like that.
