What did you do
on your summer
vacation?
I stuck my finger
through a hole
in the universe...
Photo note: I have a bunch of these shots, but they're on my other computer of course. I shall dole them out one at a time, I guess.
Lovely pic. Welcome home Dakota, hope you enjoyed your vacation.
I happened to be reading an article in Saturday's edition of The Independent newspaper here about a photographer named Harold Feinstein who lives in Massachusetts and is a worldwide hit because one photo he took of a white rose ("Pjatteryd") was marketed by IKEA as a print and has been selling by the zillions all over the planet for several years. Apparently H.F. was blissfully unaware of the success of this particular pic because he's happy and doing fine in his profession anyway. It was a nice story and I wondered if you are related to him?

It's so lovely to hear from you. I hope that you are well. I have to catch up with dear Augustine, God and all of your fine philosophical journeys at Blaugustine. One of the many disadvantages of being unplugged for a fortnight.
Would that I were related to Harold Feinstein, but my name is a complete fiction, entirely pseudo -(see "about me" for the full skinny) Wonder if he has a website? Would that we were of the same gene pool; maybe then I would be able to understand all that f-stop stuff.
Posted by: Dakota at August 17, 2005 06:13 AMP.S. He does! Just google him. And guess what-- it's completely filled with flowers. D
Posted by: Dakota at August 17, 2005 06:18 AMI just looked him up and there's *a lot* of sites about him. Yes, he is known for his flower photos, Did you see this:

That's the pic of him they used in the article.
I think you should get in touch with him, mention your fictitious sharing of a name and tell him about your blog and photos. He seems like a very nice person (happily married, just in case you're wondering....) and lives in your neck of the woods. So why not make contact?
Posted by: Natalie at August 17, 2005 06:56 PMI did read your ABOUT ME quite a while ago but thanks for reminding me. I've just reread it and am so impressed. How about adding a photo of you that can actually be seen? If I could do it, why can't you? Posted a big one of me since you've been away, so there.
