But I had a similar thing happen years ago with a tai chi class, where I just wasn't getting it; I ended up in oceans of tears, fortunately after I got home, but I never went back. The approach in that particular class was martial, as in martial arts, but too aggressive by far, and I just - for reasons that made no sense - couldn't absorb any of it, and felt like a real dummy. I now see the approach was all wrong for me, and probably a misuse of tai chi anyway. But that's ten years later.
Speaking of weddings. . . my son got married in my living room on Saturday; it was originally going to be in the back yard, but it rained Biblically that morning, causing us to move things indoors (then we kept waffling: no, outdoors, it'll be fine! No, we'll be soaked! And on and on and on, causing some of the worst stress I've experienced in recent years!). At one point that morning I was alone in the house, and the "flower lady" called to say, "I have the archway (a huge thing covered with fabric and fake flowers, that couldn't be gotten wet)all loaded. SHould I bring it over?" Do you know what I said? I said, "No, we're having it indoors." I cancelled the arch. No kidding. All day, I could feel the disappointment, palpable, that I had done such a thing and ruined the photo op. We could've covered it with a tarp, you see, and had photos out there later, as the sun (sticking its tongue out at me rudely) came out later on. . . Oh God. I cancelled the arch. Sometimes, I do things and then think, how on earth. . .why. . .? But such is the appalling stress of a family wedding; the brain ceases to function, it simply shuts down! But in spite of all these glitches, and a weeping bride (she was very very nervous), it was all quite lovely. The reception on English Bay in Vancouver was completely rained out, however. . then a raccoon came in the yard that night and dug up the $2,000.00 worth of new sod we put down for the wedding. . .ah me. . .life is always interesting.
So now both my kids are all married off, and I tell you, they had better stay that way; if they do this again, I wash my hands.

Welcome back to your own life!
That was the best wedding story we've ever had here on this blog, and that's saying something, from a blog practically devoted to them. A peek behind the scenes extraordinaire. My anxiety went up 40 point, reading about the archway. I shall have to find it an appropriate picture.
I am also heartened by the fact that another TaiChi dropout has gone on to live an embodied life.
As always, thanks for your resonance.
