Snow. Cancellation. No Laptop. Write a poem.

WAITING

For the babies to be born
For the biopsy results
For the trip to Norway
For the Sox to win
For the race to start
For the package to arrive

For your lover
For your salvation
For your muse

For the first step
For the pain to end
For the sun to rise
For the film to start
For the light to change
For the sky to fall
For the phone to ring
For the spring to come
For the other shoe

to drop

For your mail
For your retirement
For your just desserts

Forever.

What ever became of now?

I picked up your link from son Gary's Web site, and enjoy your articles , art, etc. Interesting question, "Whatever happened to now?"

My thoughts: In reality, all there is is "now"... the eternal, and I wonder how much better life would be if we could have learned this fact at an early age... instead of spending our lives dwelling on the "what might have been yesterdays" or "tomorrows that haven't arrived"... and rather making the best of each arriving moment to reflect God and appreciate true reality. No doubt it would be a sweeter, calmer yet truly more exhilarating experience than most of us will ever know in our habitual human experience.

Hi Jug -

The ink doesn't fall far from the inkstand, I see. Blogging as a family traditon-- inspiring.

Would that we all could learn about living in the now at an early age. It takes so much practice for those of us who didn't grow up in the Eastern traditons. Then again, what else do we have to in our spare time?

Lovely to hear from you, so eloquently.

Best, Dakota
